You Are Your Own Person

I can’t comprehend the concept of being influenced into doing something you didn’t even want to do in the first place.

You really are not proving anything to anyone. To me, it’s poor judgment. We were taught at a very early age to be a leader, not a follower. We were taught to not give into peer pressure.

Apparently, several individuals did not grasp these lessons.

I always ask myself, “What happened to standing your ground?”

I’ve seen this go on way too many times – and it just astonishes me. We are all human, all different in every possible way – continue to be your own person! Don’t follow the trends.

You need to take control of your life in every way possible. No one should do it for you.

You Are Not Weak

Weeping is not a sign of weakness. The person who told you that is wrong and it would be wise to never listen to their advice again.

Weeping is a way of you releasing in a positive way. Once you’ve done that, you immediately feel like a weight has been lifted off of your shoulders.

We have many reasons to cry. Happiness, sadness, furiousness. It’s natural. It’s not only natural for women, but for men too.

Is it a shocker that I believe it’s acceptable for men to cry? I’ve seen plenty of men cry and it didn’t make them less of a man in my eyes.

Don’t be afraid to cry.

Don’t hold it in! Let the tears pour from your eyes and stream down your face. Who cares if your eyes swell up and your face turns bright red? Let the tears flow until it feels like you cannot shed anymore.

Remember that this does not weaken you. In fact, it makes you stronger.

Life

Life is unpredictable.

We all have created paths for ourselves at some point. But whether that path will move straight forward or take a detour is an unknown to everyone.

It might be a minor setback – or a major one. If it is a major one, there is no need to be frantic. It will work itself out – I truly believe that. With some determination, dedication, and positivity, your dreams and desires will come true.

When life feels like it’s getting chaotic, remember that the two most important things are your health and the important people around you. Important people are the ones that are supportive of you and what plans you have for a successful future. No one has time for negativity. It really does not do any good.

It’s your life. Take control of it. Hold on to what you want. Go get what you think you deserve. If you don’t try, you won’t get anywhere.

I think we’ve all figured out that life is not always a big bowl of peaches. There are some days, plenty of days, when your day is just not going to go as planned. At the end of an awful day, you may want to kick something! Go ahead! Preferably not a wall – the last thing you need is injuring a foot or an ankle. Try a pillow; it’s cushioned.

Trust

I know there are plenty of goodhearted people in this world.

But I know the streets are filled with heartless ones too.

It can be difficult to pin point them out though. You try and go with your gut feeling. But sometimes that’s not even accurate. It’s usually when you are getting to know them when you can decipher their true intentions.

I really try my best to see the good in everyone. But, one wrong move on their part, and I think twice.

I find trust to be extremely crucial. Without trust, you have nothing. I want to be able to trust my family, my friends, my acquaintances, my neighbors – everyone. But, in this thing we call Life…it’s not one hundred percent possible.

I want everyone to trust me, so how do I make that work? I keep my word – my promises – your secrets. If you are having a bad day, I’m going to do everything in my power to make sure I turn that frown upside down! I will not only do my best to make you smile or make you laugh, but I will give you my best advice so you can find relief.

The one thing that ticks me off – and I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one in this universe – is if I help you (in any shape or form) and you take advantage of me. Don’t treat me like the dirt from under your shoe. I refuse to bend over backwards for you if I’m not being appreciated.

And, do not test me. I may give you the benefit of the doubt at first. But, if you are playing games with me, I will know.

Congratulations, you have lost my trust. But not only have you lost my trust, you also lost any relationship we’ve ever had.

I will not work with you again, I will not lend you a hand in any way, and I will turn the other cheek.

Is that considered a heartless person?

Possibly.

But you deserve it. You brought it upon yourself – and I do not have one ounce of respect for you anymore.

Recollections of the Past

Photographs are reminders of events and memories that have faded away with time.

You never want to take them for granted because without them, you cannot recreate those exact moments from the past. They can bring up a ton of different emotions – but it’s natural.

Sometimes we get caught up in our daily lives that we only think about the present and the future. That’s our main priority. Why not think about the past? Why must it stay in the past? Everything that happened, it happened for a reason. All the people who were in our lives, even if it were for a short period of time, were there for a reason. Whether you liked to believe it or not, the past has shaped us into the people we are today.

The past cannot simply disappear. No matter how hard you try to banish it from your mind, the past will always be there. But, we can learn from it all. It makes us wiser and makes us stronger as individuals.
